SuperTerminal for Android / Privacy policy

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This policy covers the Android app Escapeburn SuperTerminal for Android (package com.escapeburn.superterminal). It adds to the SuperTerminal Privacy Policy, which covers SuperTerminal on your computer and your Escapeburn account.

In short

  • The app connects only to your own computer running SuperTerminal. What you type, say or allow the phone to read goes over an encrypted link to that computer.
  • Comet on your computer may send that content to the AI model you chose there (for example Anthropic Claude, OpenAI Codex or xAI Grok), under your subscription with that provider.
  • Escapeburn's servers receive only what is needed for notifications (sealed so we cannot read them) and the replies you choose to report.
  • There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in the app. We do not sell personal data.

Who is responsible

Escapeburn is responsible for the app and for the processing on Escapeburn's servers. Contact: contact@escapeburn.com. Content processed on your own computer is under your control.

The app has no analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs. Firebase Cloud Messaging is used only to deliver wake-up notifications.

Permissions

Every Android permission belongs to a capability you turn on, or to a feature you start (camera for scanning the pairing code, microphone for calls and dictation, notifications). Before a sensitive capability is used for the first time, the app shows what it reads and where it goes, and asks for your agreement. The full list is on Permissions.

Location is used only when Comet asks for it, or because Android requires it for Wi-Fi scans; it is never tracked over time or used in the background.

AI providers

Comet runs on your computer with the AI model and subscription you chose in SuperTerminal. When content reaches that model, the provider processes it under its own terms and privacy policy (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI or Google). Escapeburn does not receive or store that conversation.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data and do not share it for advertising. Data reaches third parties only as described above: the AI provider you chose (from your computer), Google for push delivery and, if you dictate, your phone's speech service.

Security

The link between phone and computer uses TLS with each side's key pinned; away from home it runs through an encrypted peer-to-peer tunnel. Approvals are signed with a key that needs your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Notification previews are encrypted with AES-256-GCM under a key only your phone has. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at contact@escapeburn.com if you find a problem.

Children

The app is a developer tool and is not directed at children. It is not meant for anyone under 16.

Your choices and rights

  • Turn any capability off under MORE → phone hands, or remove a permission in Android settings.
  • Forget the computer on the phone and remove the phone on the computer; uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.
  • Delete Comet's history and SuperTerminal data on your computer at any time.
  • Ask us at contact@escapeburn.com for access, correction or deletion of data on Escapeburn's servers, including your account and reports.

Step by step: Delete your data. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

International transfers

Push notifications pass through Google's infrastructure, which may be outside your country. AI providers you chose may also process data in other countries under their terms.

Changes

We will update this page when the app's data use changes, and change the date above. Material changes are also announced in the app.
