Install SuperTerminal for Android
SuperTerminal for Android is distributed only as an APK file from escapeburn.com. You need a phone with Android 11 or newer, and SuperTerminal on a Windows computer to pair it with.

Download the APK on your phone, or on your computer and copy it to the phone. Only download it from escapeburn.com.
Allow your browser to install apps
Android installs apps from outside an app store only from apps you allow. The first time you open the APK, Android offers a shortcut to this setting; you can also turn it on beforehand:
- Open Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps. On some phones it is under Settings → Security or Settings → Privacy.
- Choose the browser or file manager you downloaded the APK with.
- Turn on Allow from this source.
After installing you can turn it off again; you only need it to install and to update.
Check the file (optional)
The SHA-256 checksum is published next to the download. If your file has the same checksum, it is complete and unchanged. On a computer:
- Windows (PowerShell):
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256followed by the path of the file - macOS:
shasum -a 256followed by the path of the file - Linux:
sha256sumfollowed by the path of the file
Install and open
- Open the downloaded file from the browser's downloads or a file manager.
- Tap Install. Android may warn that the app comes from outside an app store; if you downloaded it from escapeburn.com, you can continue.
- Open SuperTerminal. You can pair it right away, or tap try the demo to look around first.
Pair it with your computer
- On the computer open SETTINGS → Comet → Phone → pair phone. A QR code appears.
- On the phone tap scan code and point the camera at it (or paste the link shown under the code).
- Both screens show the same six digits. Compare them, then confirm on the computer.
The first pairing needs the phone and the computer on the same Wi-Fi; afterwards the phone reaches the computer from any network. More in the User guide.
Updates
The app keeps itself up to date: once a day it asks escapeburn.com for a newer version, downloads it on Wi-Fi and installs it while you are not using the app, never during a call. Android checks that every version is signed with the same Escapeburn key, so your pairing, settings and phone-hands switches stay. Some phones, Xiaomi among them, ask you to confirm each update. Under MORE → app updates you can choose ask me or off, or check right away.
If Android refuses the update because it conflicts with the installed app, the two files were not signed with the same key. Do not uninstall to force it: download the APK again from escapeburn.com, and write to contact@escapeburn.com if it happens again.
Uninstall
Long-press the app icon and choose Uninstall, or open Settings → Apps → SuperTerminal → Uninstall. Uninstalling deletes everything the app stored on the phone. Also remove the phone on your computer under SETTINGS → Comet → Phone; see Delete your data.
