SuperTerminal for Android / Data overview
Data overview
This page sums up the Privacy policy in a few tables. Most data only travels between your phone and your own computer; Escapeburn's servers see very little of it.
In short
- No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and no data is sold.
- Everything between your phone and your computer is encrypted; only the two paired devices can read it.
- Escapeburn's servers receive only sealed notification previews, which they pass on without storing, and the Comet replies you choose to report.
- The app works without an account; notifications and reports need SuperTerminal signed in to your Escapeburn account on the computer.
On your phone
| Data | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Pairing keys (in the Android Keystore, never exported) | You forget the computer or uninstall the app |
| Link settings and phone-hands switches | You forget the computer or uninstall the app |
The app turns Android backup off, so its data is not copied to your Google account.
Where data goes
| Data | Goes to | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Messages, dictated text and prompts you send | Your computer; from there Comet may send it to the AI model you chose | In SuperTerminal's history on your computer until you delete it |
| Files and pictures you attach | Your computer | 7 days, then deleted |
| What phone hands read, only for capabilities you turned on | Your computer; from there it may go to the AI model you chose | On your computer, as part of Comet's conversation |
| Voice during a call | Streamed to your computer and its voice engine | Not recorded by the app |
| Dictation | Your phone's speech recognition service | As set by that service |
| Push token and sealed notification previews | Escapeburn account server, then Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, then your phone | Passed on without being stored or logged |
| A Comet reply you report, with your reason and note | Escapeburn account server, with your account | Until the report is resolved and deleted with your account, or earlier on request |
| Approval signatures | Your computer | Checked and not kept |
| Update check, once a day, with no identifier | escapeburn.com | Like any download from escapeburn.com |
What the app does not do
- It contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- It never asks for background location, call logs, SMS reading or access to all installed apps.
- Escapeburn does not receive your conversations with Comet, except a reply you report: Comet runs on your computer, and the AI provider you chose processes content under its own terms.
Encryption and protection
- Phone and computer: TLS with each side's key pinned; away from home an encrypted peer-to-peer tunnel, where relays see only ciphertext.
- Notification previews: AES-256-GCM under a key only your phone has, so neither Escapeburn nor Google can read them.
- Approvals: signed with a key that needs your fingerprint, face or screen lock where the phone has one.
- Escapeburn's servers and Google: HTTPS only.
Your control
Every phone-hands capability starts off and can be turned off at any time under MORE → phone hands. To delete data see Delete your data; all details are in the Privacy policy.
